Who I am.
About Me
I'm Jacob Breeden. I'm an artist, designer, educator, and creative strategist who has spent more than 25 years making things and helping other people make things happen.
My career has never followed a particularly straight line. I've worked in museums and galleries, designed exhibitions and spaces, built furniture and sculpture, started businesses, worked with nonprofits, taught creative practice, led teams, and helped bring large, complicated ideas into the world.
That range has taught me a lot about how creativity actually works. I've learned to trust curiosity, get comfortable with uncertainty, follow ideas before I know where they're going, and recognize when it's time to push, pause, or change direction.
I'm interested in what happens when we understand creativity as something much bigger than making art. Creative intelligence shapes how we solve problems, build relationships, lead people, respond to change, and imagine possibilities beyond the ones already in front of us.
Professionally Creative grew out of that experience. I work with artists, professionals, leaders, and teams who want to better understand their own creative intelligence and use it more deliberately in their work and their lives.
I still spend a lot of my time in the studio making art. That's important to me. I don't want to teach creativity from a distance. I want to stay in the mess of making things, getting stuck, changing my mind, trying again, and occasionally finding something I didn't know I was looking for.
The pursuit of creativity has shaped a life I’m deeply grateful for. Here’s a glimpse behind the work.
